Applications/Transactions:  If you submit an online application we may enter the information you send into our electronic database. We may also use the information to contact you for additional information or for clarification.  We may use the information to prepare loan documents or account agreements.  If you are conducting banking transactions, such as making bill payments, transferring funds or downloading transactions, we will collect the information needed to process your request.  All information we collect from you through electronic channels is handled in strict compliance with our Privacy Policy and Information Safeguarding Procedures.  Most of the forms on our web site use encryption to send your information across the Internet to us.  When we ask you to provide confidential information, such as your account number or social security number, or when you request balances, transfer funds or pay bills, we use encryption to collect this information and process these functions. 

Cookies:  Like many leading websites our site uses “cookies”. A cookie is a small piece of information which a website stores on your web browser on your PC and can later retrieve. BankUnited, FSB has implemented specific procedures and security levels that limit employee access to personally identifiable information to those employees with a business reason to know such information about you.  We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy through standard operation procedures, specialized training programs, and the BankUnited, FSB Code of Ethics. We take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

    • Continually assess new technology for poretecting infromation and upgrade our systems when appropriate.

  • Maintaining Customer Privacy in Our Business Relationships

From time to time BankUnited, FSB contracts with outside vendors and other business partners to perform specific services for the Bank.  When doing so, BankUnited, FSB selects business partners and vendors that adhere to similar privacy standards as that of the Bank.  We expect that our business partners and vendors will honor and safeguard any information regarding a BankUnited, FSB customer(s).  

  • Maintaining Your Privacy in Business Relationships with Outside Third Parties

Sometimes it is necessary to provide personally identifiable information about you to a third party, such as to a vendor or service company that we hire to prepare your account statements or to provide support or services for one or more of our products.  These vendors and service companies agree to safeguard our confidential information about you.  Further, vendors and service providers are contractually obligated by BankUnited, FSB to maintain the confidentiality of the information disclosed to them and restrict the use of the information to the stated purpose of the contract.

  • Children’s Information

We respect the privacy of our children, and we comply with the practices established under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.  We do not knowingly collect or retain personally identifiable information from consumers under the age of thirteen.
